Eugene Hall Vier

Eugene Hall Vier of Plano, Texas passed away on April 9, 2016 at the age of 82.  He was born on November 27, 1933 to Leonard & Lela Beatrice (Snider) Vier in McKinney, Texas.  Eugene was a member of Boy Scout Troup 295 in McKinney, Texas.  He earned the rank of Eagle Scout with three palms.  Eugene also earned the God and Country Award and was a member of the Order of The Arrow.  He graduated in McKinney with the class of 1953.  Eugene married Louise Hill on October 24, 1954 in Durant, Oklahoma. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1954 until 1957 at Fort Bliss, and the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.  After Eugene received his honorable discharge from the United States Army, he went to work with First National Bank of Dallas.  The bank underwent several name changes during his career and at the time of his retirement in 2002, it was Nations Bank.  Eugene’s hobbies included chasing English Pointers while hunting quail along with his favorite past time of fishing for largemouth bass and stripers on Lake Texoma.

Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Louise Vier of Plano, Texas; son, Leonard Craig Vier and wife Joanne of Bonham, Texas; daughter, Laurie Ann Ries of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Caleb Strait, Cooper Strait, Mindy Wallace and husband Wayne, and Jannell Minor and husband John; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Nelda Cox and Marlys Newman and husband Troy; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Joe Leonard Vier.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening, April 12, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
