Etta Marie (Ward) Mauldin of Garland, Texas passed away on April 16, 2022 at the age of 97. She was born on February 24, 1925 to Clarence William Ward and Mable Glen (Murry) Ward in Jefferson, Oklahoma. Etta married Samuel M. Mauldin on April 5, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas. She served her country proudly by building B29’s for the Boeing Company. Etta also watched the last B29 leave McConnell Air Force headed for duty during World War II. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Susan G. Komen Foundation Walks. Etta was of Lutheran faith.
She is survived by her children, Vicki Amundson of Frankston, Texas, Kendall Farley of Missouri City, Texas, Sammie Thomas of Plano, Texas and Lois Martin of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Massheder, Janet Holeman, Ryan Thomas and Wesley Thomas; great-grandchildren, Louis Hernandez, Marcus Hernandez, Seth Massheder and Christina Thomas; two great-great-granddaughters; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel M. Mauldin; son, Jimmy Ross Mauldin; son-in-law, Al Amundson; grandson, Harlie Eugene Dickenson, II; brothers, Floyd Light and Harold Light; and sister, Maxine (Louis) Farley.
A remembrance gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
