Etoyce Mayfield, 91, of Princeton, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024. She was born on June 27, 1933, to Zeno William Gidney and Opal (Wolfe) Gidney in Weston, Texas.
Etoyce married the love of her life, James Roland Mayfield, on April 22, 1953, in Durant, Oklahoma. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories until his passing in 2016.
She was a devoted seamstress, working for many years with care and dedication. She was also a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton, where she contributed to her community and shared her warm, loving spirit with all who knew her.
She will be remembered fondly by her family, friends, and the community for her sweet nature and gentle soul. Etoyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and her presence will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed dearly but never forgotten.
Etoyce is survived by her sons, Roger Mayfield and wife, Mitzi of Cooper, Texas and Larry Mayfield and wife, Mary of Howe, Texas; grandchildren, Todd Mayfield of Greenville, Texas, Chad Mayfield of Royse City, Texas, Ryan Mayfield and wife, Jenny of McKinney, Texas, Chesney Ford and husband, Mark of Princeton, Texas, Carly Wilson and husband, Taylor of Midland, Texas, and Jeremy Prior and husband, Michael of Anna, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Emma, Emery, Maddi, Rhemy, Blakely, Ava, T.J., Morgan and Mason; one great-great-grandchild, Easton; and a host of other loving family members and cherished friends who will forever hold her memory close.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mayfield, four brothers, and one sister.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Princeton Cemetery, Hwy 380 in Princeton, north on Yorkshire Dr., one quarter mile from Hwy 380 on the left, Princeton, Texas 75407.
