Gene Crow of Dallas, Texas passed away on December 21, 2019 at the age of 88. She was born on August 30, 1931 to Louis Eugene and Ethel (Bynum) Tackett in Terrell, Texas. Gene was a cheerleader at Poly High School in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated in 1949. She was a "Cowgirl" at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas where she earned a degree in English and psychology. Gene earned a second degree in Italian at the University of Perugia, Italy. She married Ed Crow on June 14, 1979 in Germany. Gene was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim Anderson and husband, Randy of Colorado City, Texas, Suzanne Rolston and husband, Bobby of Cheyene, Wyoming, Lea Anne Prevost and husband, Neal of McKinney, Texas, and Julie Durbin of McKinney, Texas; stepdaughter, Judy Rulmyr and husband, Bob of Waco, Texas; stepson, Keith Crow of Aledo, Texas; grandchildren, Rachel, Stephanie, Matthew, Nathan, Ashton, Lauren, Lennon, Oli, Ali, Camille, Anna, Beth, Austin, and Preston; eigth great grandchildren; brother, Charles Lewis Tackett of San Diego, California; sister, Jane Elizabeth Hardin of Fort Worth, Texas; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Gene was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Crow; parents, Louis and Ethel Tackett; and brother, John Bynum Tackett.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral at the home of her daughter.
