Ms. J. Frank Spencer born Kathryn Cain in Farmersville, Texas on January 14, 1823 passed away January 29, 2005. She was the only daughter of Dewey and Maudie (Chapman) Cain. She grew up and attended public schools in McKinney. At an early age she became a member of the King Memorial Baptist Church in McKinney and participated in all church activities. She married early in life to her childhood sweetheart on August 10, 1940, and the two of them enjoyed 58 years of happiness before his death in November 1998. She began her federal career in 1948 as a medical secretary at the VA Hospital in McKinney. After 12 years, she transferred to the Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman. The last 20 years of her federal service included 7 years at the social security district office in Sherman and 13 years in the legal department of social security in Dallas. She retired in November 1981 after 32 years of service.
She is survived by her only brother, Albert Cain and wife, Becky; nephews, John Cain and wife, Lisa and daughter, Amanda Eade and Matthew Cain; niece, Amanda Borton and husband, Brian and son, Jacob Rucker Borton all of McKinney; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive in Nevada, Oklahoma, Florida and Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and former sister-in-law and close friend, Carolyn L. Cain.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
