IN LOVING MEMORY

Ethan Joseph Dachowicz

Sep 01 2006 - Sep 17 2023

Ethan Joseph Dachowicz, of Frisco, Texas, gained his angel wings September 17, 2023, at the age of 17.  After an 8-week valiant battle, he passed away peacefully at Children’s Medical Center Dallas in the loving arms of his parents.

Ethan was born September 1, 2006, to Joseph and Colleen Dachowicz in Tyler, Texas, along with his beloved twin sister, Emma.

From the moment Ethan was born and throughout his short life, he was loved by everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.  He was well-known for his amazing hugs; once he hugged you tight, with his arms around your neck and the purest love in his soul, he had stolen a piece of your heart forever.

Ethan loved family time and being with his sister - from big trips to Disney, to movie musicals (Mamma Mia! and The Greatest Showman were favorites!) or hanging at home and cuddling on the couch. His most favorite times of all were the daily walks with his daddy to the park.  Sometimes he was ready before his daddy and would be at the door jiggling the knob ready to go!  He had the most beautiful smile and giggles on these walks.

Ethan played sports with Miracle League for 12 years.  While he tried just about every sport offered, his favorites were baseball and basketball. He loved being out on the baseball field with all his friends and buddies.  In basketball, there was no greater joy than his buddy racing him down the court to dunk the ball! He felt the joy and love that came from amazing coaches and volunteers and treasured his time with Miracle League.

Ethan also rode horses just about every Saturday for the last 10 years and loved every minute of it.  Some days it was 110 degrees, some days it was 20 degrees - he was on that horse and riding whenever he could. He had even learned to trot! It was a joy for his parents to watch him ride and to see him so independent and happy.

Ethan is survived by his parents, Joe and Colleen; his twin sister, Emma; maternal grandmother Elizabeth Dougherty; paternal grandmother Carole Dachowicz; paternal aunt and uncle Diana and Steve Worthy and cousins Sydney and Kate; maternal uncle Eric Lambert; maternal great uncle and aunt Bill and Barbara Reinerth; paternal great aunt Mary Jane Acito; paternal great aunt Pat McIntyre; and many family members and friends who loved and adored him.  He was preceded in death and greeted in heaven by his paternal grandfather Joseph Dachowicz, Sr., and maternal aunt Shirley Lambert.

Ethan will be honored on Saturday, September 23rd at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.  There will be a brief viewing and visitation from 3:15 - 3:45 pm, followed by a celebration of life service at 4:00 pm.  A reception will follow at 6:00 pm at La Hacienda Ranch in Frisco.  The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/ethan-joseph-dachowicz

Ethan would want other children to experience the same fun and joy he did through riding and sports.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Ethan’s name to The Miracle League of Frisco (https://buy.stripe.com/6oEeXn8Mmcdc10s144) or ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship in McKinney (http://manegait.org/donation).
