Esther Nyambura Ngugi, age 52, of Garland, Texas passed away on June 4, 2019 in Plano, Texas. She was born on January 7, 1967 to Jane Wanjiru Ngugi and John Ngugi Karanja in Kenya. Esther married Franklin R. Smith in Dallas Texas. Esther worked in the healthcare industry.
Esther is survived by her husband, Franklin R. Smith; seven siblings, David Ngugi and his wife Elishiba Maina, Samuel Ngugi and his wife Ikunda Buretta, Rose Ngugi, Susan Njoroge and her husband Philip Mwaniki, Betty Njenga and her husband Moses Njenga, Anne Ngugi and Simon Ngugi; eleven nieces and nephews, Irene Maina, Lillian Maina, Jessica Maina, Anne Njeri, Joshua Gikonyo, Joy Gikonyo, Wycliffe Wairimu, Stephan Wairimu, Dyris Payne, Irene Njoroge, Myles Njenga and May Gesare.
Esther was preceded in death by her brother, Fredrick Ngugi; parents, Jane Wanjiru Ngugi and John Ngugi Karanja; step-mother, Grace Wangari Ngugi.
A Memorial Service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013, on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Rev. Danny Buster officiating.
