Erwin Harve Gibson, Sr.

Erwin Harve Gibson, Sr. (Harve to family and friends) of McKinney, Texas passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 86.  He was born on January 19, 1938, in McKinney, Texas, to Marvin Hill Gibson and Mary Elizabeth Griffey.

A proud native of McKinney, Texas, Harve graduated from McKinney High School in 1956. His lifelong connection to his hometown remained a constant source of pride throughout his life.

In 1966, Harve married his first wife, Patsy J. Free, and together they built a family and shared a life filled with love and joy until her passing in 2005. In 2012, after a period of reflection and healing, Harve found love once again, on-line, and married Suzanne (Sue) Wagstaff on December 1, 2012. Their union brought Harve immense happiness, and they shared many cherished moments, attending and servicing the church in the years that followed.

Harve enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with Texas Instruments, where he worked for 28 years before retiring in 1993. His professional life was defined by hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence, traits that earned him the respect of his colleagues and peers.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Gibson of McKinney, Texas; son, Jonathan Gibson of Melissa, Texas; daughter, Kelly Westphal and husband, Bill of Caddo Mills, Texas; son, Todd Wagstaff and wife, Deb of Millersvick, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Rylee Gibson, Caden Gibson, Holten Gibson, Katie Clemenich, Megan Cyr, Lauren Wagstaff, Clark Wagstaff; great grandchild, C.J. Cyr; sister, Evelyn Valek of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and a host of other loving family and friends.

Harve was preceded in death by wife, Patsy J. Gibson; son, Harve Gibson, Jr; son, Timothy Gibson; son, Phillip Gibson; brothers, Sam, Alton, Earl, Armon Gibson; and sister, Dorothy Golden.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2024, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Following the service, the committal service will take place at Scott Cemetery, 6146 Ridge Road, McKinney Texas (also known as County Road 161).  Everyone is invited to join the committal service.  

The family will receive guests during a visitation on Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
