Erwin Charles "Chuck" Brede

Erwin Charles “Chuck” Brede, age 84, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on February 23, 2012.  He was born May 14, 1927, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Erwin Carl Theodore and Pauline (Lindsay) Brede.  On January 14, 1951, Chuck married Dorothy Ann Ford in West Virginia; they were wed for thirty seven years.  Chuck graduated from Marshall University with a bachelor of science in geology.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.  Chuck worked over thirty five years at GSI, in the oil & gas field; after retiring from GSI, he had his own consulting firm, Brede Consulting, for a few years, prior to partnering into another firm in Houston, Texas.  After retiring at sixty five, Chuck began to travel the world visiting Singapore, New Zealand, South America, The Mediterranean, the Scandinavian countries of Northern Europe as well as England and a tour of the Suez Canal, in Egypt.

He is survived by his sons, James Erwin Brede of Bayfield, Colorado, Thomas Arthur Brede and wife, Donna of Fairview, Texas; grandsons, Justin Eric Brede and wife Jaclyn and Colton Ford Brede; granddaughter, Angie Schapeler and husband Brian; and great-granddaughter, Hanna Maurine Schapeler.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at Ridgeview Memorial Park Pavilion, in Allen, Texas.
