Ernie S. Scalise, of Frisco, TX passed away on May 15, 2017. Ernie was born on October 11, 1952 to Ernest S. and Millis (Messina) Scalise in Buffalo, New York. Ernie married Florence Gaughran on March 2, 2001 in Frisco, Texas.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Florence Scalise of Frisco; children, Philip Scalise of Dallas, TX, Elizabeth Scalise of Spring Hill, Florida, Anthony Errico and his wife Irene of Lyndhurst, New Jersey and Linda Fitzgerald and her husband Maurice of Allen, Texas; grandson, Philip Scalise; and sister Nancy Scalise-Lauria of Buffalo, New York.
Ernie is preceded in death by his parents.
Ernie was an avid sports fan, most notably golf and horse racing. When he wasn’t critiquing a player’s club choice, you would find him studying the racing forms, seeking out the best 4 year olds before post time. He will be remembered most of all for his boisterous laugh, witty humor, and genuine, caring personality. With Ernie, you were never an acquaintance but an immediate friend, and in his eyes and heart, family. Nothing was more paramount to him than family, and his generosity and caring for his family never wavered, no matter the circumstances. Ernie gave freely and willingly, always ensuring that no family member or friend, was ever left wanting. His ability to give was unmatched, and he enjoyed spoiling his loved ones, even more than they enjoyed the spoils. Ernie will be missed dearly by all of those who knew and loved him, and whom he loved with equal strength and merit.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, Texas 75033. A reception will immediately follow at the church.
