Erna Marjorie Connally, of Plano, Texas, passed away on December 16, 2010. Erna was born August 11, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, to Ernest Weldon and Marjorie (Scales) Lee. On May 3, 1973, she married John Marcus Connally, Jr. in Houston, Texas. Erna grew up in Dallas where she graduated from Kimball High School in 1963. She later graduated from The University of Texas in Arlington with a bachelor degree in secretarial science. Erna was past Executive Vice-President of Financial Protection Corporation and served as Administrative Assistant for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers. She has been a member of Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano since 1980 where she was on the building committee for the chapel and president and teacher of the Seeker’s Sunday school class. She is survived by her husband, John Marcus Connally, Jr. of Plano, Texas; daughters, Jaelyn Whorton and husband Brad of Plano, Texas, Kelle Horie of Plano, Texas, Katie Gutherie and husband Dan, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Laura Lind and husband John of Mansfield, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving family and friends. Erna was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Custer Road United Methodist Church, Plano, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends at a visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
