Eric Wells Pratt

Eric Wells Pratt died Thursday, July 8, 2021, at his home in Coppell, Texas.  He was born November 13, 1945, in Norfolk, Virginia, to June (Barrett) and Eric Wells Pratt.  Eric served his country as a communications radio operator technician for four years in the United States Navy where he earned the National Defense Service Medal.  He married the love of his life, Michal Lynn Newman, on January 31, 1970, in Coronado Beach, California, and they were blessed with two children.  During his 35 year career in banking, Eric started at Local Loan San Diego and ended as a Senior Vice President of Compliance at CitiGroup in Irving, Texas.  Eric was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joys of his life.  Eric loved to travel and in recent years enjoyed life to the fullest traveling to India, Asia, Russia, Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean.  He spent time volunteering with Coppell ISD on the Districtwide Education Improvement Council.  Eric made a huge impact on all the people who knew him.  He took the time to get to know people and was very loyal to those in his life.

Eric is survived by his son, Gordon Pratt and his wife, Robyn, of Wills Point, TX; his daughter, Terra Lynn Salas and her husband, Hector, of Corinth, TX; his grandchildren, Andrew Pratt and his wife, Sasha, of Plano, TX, Alexander Pratt and his wife, Kaitlyn, of Bonham, TX, Jordan Pratt of Wills Point, TX, Ethan Salas and Maximo Salas both of Corinth; his great-grandchildren, Nolan and Kinley Pratt; his mother, June Pratt; his brother, John Wells Pratt (Diane) of Monroe, NC; his sisters, Barbara Gleason (Geoffrey) of Naples, FL, Mary Jane Waz (Robert) of Grand Island, NY, and Kristen Murray of Hamlin, NY; and his special canine companion, Scout.

Eric was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Michal Lynn Pratt, and his father and step-mother, Eric Wells and Barbara Pratt.

A Memorial Service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, on Monday, July 19, 2021, beginning at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Dr. Danny Buster.
