She is survived by her beloved husband of many years, Armando Bustamante; her sons, Armando Bustamante Jr. (Shawn) and David Bustamante (Yukari); and her daughter, Christy Castillo (David). Grandson Christopher “CJ” Castillo (Tia); and her great-grandson, Vince. She is also survived by her sister, Sylvia Ogas, and her brother, Daniel Ogas.
Dina was preceded in death by her parents, Abelino "Nin" Ogas and Isabel Ogas, and her brother, Abelino "Baby" Ogas.
Raised in Alpine, Texas, Dina attended Sul Ross State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. It was there, in the university library, that she first caught the eye of her future husband, Armando. After marrying, the couple settled in Eagle Pass, Texas, where Dina began a fulfilling career as an educator.
As a teacher, Dina was beloved by students, colleagues, and administrators alike. Her compassionate spirit, dedication to learning, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Following retirement, Dina and Armando enjoyed the beauty of the Texas Hill Country while living in Marble Falls before eventually relocating to Plano, Texas, to be closer to their family.
A devoted Catholic, Dina's faith guided her throughout her life. She possessed a warm sense of humor and found great joy in spending time and travelling with family and friends. She especially enjoyed spirited games of dominoes and treasured the opportunity to travel in support of her grandson's athletic pursuits, cheering him on from his Little League days through his collegiate career. Dina and her beloved grand dog, Riley, shared an extraordinary bond over the past two years, a tender connection filled with unconditional love and endless slobbery kisses!
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers whose compassion, dedication, and support provided comfort to Dina and her loved ones during this difficult journey.
