Emogene Lafon, age 89, of Princeton, Texas, passed away March 14, 2016. Emogene was born July 26, 1926, in Pattonville, Texas, to Marshall Jenkins and Tommie (Crockett) Threadgill. She was a claims adjustor in the insurance business. Emogene was a member of Church of Christ in Princeton and a past member of the Branch Auxillary Fire Department.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Billy Horton and wife, Robin of Princeton, Texas, Bobby Horton of Carrollton, Texas, Rhonda Horton and John Lucas of Mesquite, Louis Lafon, also of Princeton, and Marshall Lafon, Jr. and wife, Kimberly of McKinney, Texas; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Marshall “Junior” Threadgill; and sisters, Sybil Harbison of Paris, Texas and Carolyn Chance of Sumner, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eldon Ray Lafon, daughter, Wanda Jean Horton, son, Marshall Ray Lafon, Sr., brother, Jim Threadgill, and sisters, Maxine Threadgill and Dorothy Ann Threadgill.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in Lowry Crossing, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
