Emily Louise Robinson passed away peacefully on April 10, 2018 at Richardson Methodist Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Emily was born August 23, 1925 to Hazel Marie Hauer and Charles Ray Lewis in Cincinnati, Ohio. She lived most her life in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio following her marriage to Richard H Robinson on 12/31/48 and working for Ben Franklin and Lawson’s as an accountant and also as a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, following 55 years of marriage. Emily is survived by son David Robinson of Encinitas, CA and daughter Charlene and her husband, Steve Hempleman, as well as granddaughters Kristen Hempleman of McKinney, TX and Elizabeth (Todd) Agnew of Monument, CO. She is also survived by brother Richard Lewis of Venice, FL and sister Joanne Kilgore of Newton, Kansas.
Her joys included traveling with her family to various states to see family members, and especially to CA to see her son and spend time at the beach. She also enjoyed reading and music, having performed with the Akron Symphony choir performing Handel’s Messiah, when she was younger. She enjoyed music throughout her life and was a devoted fan of classic musicals by Judy Garland, Nelson Eddy and Jeanette McDonald.
Plans for interment will be at a later date at Rosecrans Military Cemetery in San Diego, California. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
