Emelia Cerritos of McKinney, Texas passed away on October 4, 2021, at the age of 63. She was born on March 23, 1958 to Natvidad Cerritos and Ernestina Cerritos in Mexico. Emelia grew up in Mexico where she attended schools. She moved to the United States in 1982. She loved crafts, making cookies, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Emelia was an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas.
Emelia is survived by her husband, Javier Ruiz; son, Eriverto Cerritos; daughter, Veronica Ruiz; granddaughter, Natali Ruiz; goddaughter, Aaliyah Torres; sisters, Leticia Robles and Hermelinda Sauz of Mexico; several nieces and nephews; and host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Natvidad and Ernestina Cerritos.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 11, 2021 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 411 Paula Road, McKinney, Texas 75069. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
