Elva Jeanne Broughton

Nov 28 1930 - Nov 08 2020

Elva Jeanne Broughton, better known as Skippy, of Allen, Texas passed away on November 8, 2020 at the age of 89.
Skippy was born on November 28, 1930 to William R. and Sarah (Damron) Skipping in San Benito, Texas.  She graduated from Tarleton State University with a degree in English. For over 35 years, she worked as a Realtor in the DFW metroplex. She loved her career in Real Estate and took pride in helping her clients find the perfect home. She loved to write, travel, and spend time with her family whenever possible. She was small in stature but had a big personality; she was lovingly referred to as a firecracker by many. Her sharp wit and bright outlook entertained her many friends and family, while hosting parties and events. She also loved to play Bridge and had achieved the level of Master.

She is survived by her son, David Broughton; grandchildren, Jessica Economon, Joshua Mostyn, Jon Ruliffson, Sarah Broughton and Adam Mostyn; nine great grandchildren; brother, William Skipping and wife, Carolyn; stepson, Don Romer; and numerous other loving family and friends.

Skippy was preceded in death by her first husband, Dan Broughton; second husband, Jim Romer; and three daughters, Dayna Kerwin, Lynda Mostyn, and Amy Skipping.

In lieu of an in person service, we will be hosting a memorial website where people can look through pictures of her through the years, watch videos of friends and family talking about her and post comments, stories, thoughts, etc.  Link coming soon.

Donations can be sent in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association https://www.alz.org/research
