Elsie Bernice Simpson, age 87, of Plano, Texas, passed away October 7, 2022. She was born to the late A.D. “Dee” Hubanks and Julia Elizabeth (Strawn) Hubanks on November 11, 1934 in England, Arkansas. Bernice married Billie Hugh Simpson on June 16, 1953, in Crossett, Arkansas.
Bernice was a strong, Christian woman who overcame the struggles of losing her mother at a very early age. It was this loss that made her the loving mother and grandmother to Paula Simpson Hall of Plano, Texas, Billie Carol Simpson of McKinney, Texas; and granddaughter, Alexis Simpson Hall of Plano, Texas.
Bernice enjoyed her family and friends, many of whom she met during her retail career in jewelry and women’s clothing. It was her love of people that kept her working until age 85. She enjoyed baseball and basketball, especially the Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks.
She is survived by her daughters, granddaughter and numerous cousins.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Bernice’s birthday at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2022 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
