IN LOVING MEMORY

Ellis K Chadick

Aug 13 1937 - Jun 11 2022

Ellis K Chadick was born on August 13, 1937, in Easterly, Texas to James Young Chadick and Patsy Akin Chadick. When his father died in 1940, he became a part of the loving home of Edythe and Clyde Crubaugh whom he called "Mom" and "Pop." He passed away at his home in Dallas, Texas, June 11, 2022, at the age of 84 years.

Ellis married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Brown, on January 18, 1957, in Dallas, Texas. They met on a bus in Dallas while commuting to their respective schools, North Dallas High School and Crozier Tech. He built his career as a mechanical engineer contributing to the plumbing design for notable projects like Dallas's Downtown Library, Forth Worth Water Gardens, Herman Hospital, and the Guadalupe Wall at UT, Austin.

More significantly, Ellis loved people well and they loved him back. Ellis and Pat opened their home to many over the years, hosting events ranging from Halloween parties to Golden Anniversaries, and from Rock-A-Thons to weddings. Many attended pre-prom events, rehearsal dinners, reunions, backyard campouts, Fall Festivals, Coke parties, and the regular holiday gatherings at their home. If they weren't hosting an event, they were going to events, regularly sharing milestones. His legacy of friendship and kindness continues in the lives of his family and friends as they host, share, and offer smiles and encouragement.

Ellis enjoyed woodworking, gardening, square dancing and dispensing salt-of-the-earth wisdom.

Ellis was a member of Northwest Bible Church, Dallas.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Chadick of Dallas; son, Clyde "Butch" Chadick and wife Robin of Lewisville; daughters, Terri Birdwell and husband Kirk of Anna, Tonya Hudson and husband Steve of Richardson, and Tami Perkins and husband Mike of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and brother, James Young Chadick, Jr of Hempstead. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brooke Chadick and his wife Dorothy; sister-in-law, Maxine Chadick; nephew Chuck Chadick; and grandson, Charles Broadhurst.

We cry goodbye, while heaven shouts, "You're home! Welcome Ellis."

On Friday, July 22, 2022, at 10 am, there will be a memorial service at Northwest Bible Church, 8505 Douglas Avenue, Dallas, Texas. Officiating the service will be David Rogers and Randy Morlan.
