Elizabeth Ann (Ritter) Crump of McKinney, Texas passed away on October 14, 2024 at the age of 85. She was born on June 9, 1939, to Orlan Ritter and Erline (Pruitt) Ritter in McKinney, Texas.
Elizabeth married the love of her life Tom Crump on March 14, 1958. She and Tom were classmates and sweethearts at McKinney High School where Elizabeth was named class favorite and Tom was most handsome. Elizabeth said there were lots of girls that wanted to steal him away from her, but she had his heart. Their love story is so sweet and their journey from high school sweethearts to a lasting marriage is truly inspiring. Their special bond stood the test of time.
Elizabeth and Tom were lifelong residents of McKinney and raised their family here. Her knowledge of farm to market roads in Collin County and how to navigate them was remarkable.
Elizabeth was an active Blue Bird and Camp Fire Girls leader when her daughters were in school, as well as a room Mother. She loved to talk about her time as a teacher’s aide at East Ward Elementary School.
Elizabeth loved to read, listen to music, travel with friends and her sisters, go to concerts and most of all spending time with her family.
She enjoyed talking about her memories of hosting pool parties in the summer, family gatherings, her grandson’s baseball games, and Emily’s Ag shows.
Elizabeth is survived by her three children, Kathi Smith (Tony), Christi Parker (Chris), and Tommy Crump (Justina); her grandchildren, Matt and Kaylee Smith, Andrew Smith, Carson Parker, Ty and Megan Crump, Toby and Kaitlyn Crump, and Emily Crump; great grandchildren, Cade, Kinsey, Jade, Charlie, and Tate; sisters, Ruby Herring (Richard), and Sandra Graves (Jimmy); and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will dearly miss her and cherish her memory.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom, her mother and father, Orlan and Erline Ritter, and sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Virgil Atnip.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/elizabeth-ann-ritter-crump. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the funeral, a procession will make its way to Pecan Grove Cemetery for a committal service.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home before the funeral service, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
