IN LOVING MEMORY

Elizabeth Byrne

May 10 1962 - Jan 05 2018

Elizabeth “Lisa” Byrne, age 55, was called to be with our Lord on Friday, January 5, 2018.  She was born May 10, 1962 to Ruben and Frances Ramos Cantu in Richmond, Texas.  On January 6, 2006, Lisa married David Walter Byrne in Dallas, Texas.  She was employed for 33 years with Southwestern Bell, (now AT&T) serving as an operator in Rosenberg, moved to Dallas as a Finance Clerk, Drafting Clerk and Engineer in Outside Plant Engineering.  Lisa was a valuable engineer in the SPORT center and later as a Quality Reviewer for five states.  She and Walter retired together in December 2013.  Together they remodeled the Byrne house in Tilden, Texas, where she mastered many skills in DIY- electrician, plumber, drywall, painting, wallpaper, mortar, concrete and porch building.  No job was too hard, too dirty, or too much challenge for her to attack.  She also loved hunting with Walter on the Byrne ranch, where she got her first deer.  They have been married 12 wonderful years and she will be dearly missed.  Lisa passed away after a long struggle with lung cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Byrne; sisters, Cynthia Hunt and husband Paul of Montgomery, Texas, Rebecca Cantu of Rosenberg, Texas, Ruby Olvera and husband Mike of Brownsville, Texas; her step-children, who she loved very much, Sara Wilson of Crestwood, Kentucky, David Byrne of Brooklyn, New York and Andrew Byrne of Keller, Texas; grandchildren, Silas, Cullan, Micah and Hadassah, who she loved dearly and had recently had a Build-A-Bear experience with; several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Virginia Rivera; and her two wonderful dogs, Gypsy and Curly, she loved them both, almost as much as she loved Walter.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway N., Allen, Texas 75013.  The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, January 9, 2017 at the funeral home.
