IN LOVING MEMORY

Elizabeth Anne "Liz" Williams

Sep 05 1952 - Apr 28 2019

Elizabeth Anne “Liz” Williams was born Sept. 5, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age.

During and after high school Liz worked for pediatricians in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and went on to graduate from Bacone College of Nursing in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She became a licensed registered nurse but put her career on hold to raise her daughters. Although she didn’t work outside the home, she used her nursing skills and knowledge to care for her children, her sister’s children, and many friends’ children through bouts of childhood illnesses.

After her children were grown, she and her husband Gary retired to Texas. With an empty nest, her “family” soon expanded to the Prosper Police Department when she began cooking favorite meals and desserts for police officers on holidays and special occasions.

During the past five years, she again began using her nursing skills to care for her husband during his cancer treatments and surgeries. Four weeks after her husband’s death on March 31, God called her home to heaven Sunday, April 28.

Liz was preceded in death by her husband Gary D. Williams, her parents Les and Jerre Ellsworth, her grandparents Esmond and Eva Lasswell, and her niece Deborah Sikes. She is survived by her daughters Erin of Prosper, Texas, Julie of Burleson, Texas, and Bethany of Double Oak, Texas; sisters Eva and Leslie, and their husbands; brother Gerry and his wife, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home in Frisco on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211 at 1:00 PM where she will be laid to rest by her beloved husband.

Liz loved flowers and Gary loved working in his yard, but they also recognized the importance of helping children and adults who are challenged or with disabilities. They supported their daughter Bethany and her friends by donating to Camp Summit. Memorials may be made to camp-summit.networkforgood.com and select camperships so Liz's daughter Bethany and her roommates can continue to enjoy a week of camping every summer with others.
