Elibario “Leo” Garza of McKinney, Texas passed away on August 22, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born on July 29, 1928 to Patrick and Maria Isabell (Escobar) Garza in Alamo, Texas. Leo grew up in San Juan, Texas and later moved to McKinney, Texas. He spent most of his life in construction. Leo loved music and loved the outdoors. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas.
Leo is survived by his daughter, Stella Garza of McKinney; sons, Ruben Garza and wife, Maria of Richardson, Ramiro Garza of Dallas, Lionel Garza and wife, Valia of Princeton, Fernando Garza and wife, Angie of Whitewright, Freddy Garza of McKinney, and Eddie Garza and wife, Diana of Frisco; many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and niece Maria Escamilla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maria Salud Escamilla Garza; his daughter, Irma Garza Blanco; and his sons, Robert Garza, Lupe Garza and Ray Garza; his granddaughter, Angel Garza; his great-granddaughters, Cecilia Blanco and Molly Garza.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 28, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A rosary service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
