Elia Cantú Oviedo of Frisco, Texas went to the loving arms of our Holy Father on March 11, 2021 at the age of 90. She was born on May 20, 1930 to Avelino Cantú and Maria Eugenia De León in Nuevo León, Mexico. Elia married Concepción Oviedo on October 8, 1952 in Nuevo León. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother to her family. Elia was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her children, Gerardo Oviedo and wife, Blanca of Carrollton, Texas, Medardo Oviedo of Carrollton, Texas, Everardo Oviedo and wife, Martha of Farmers Branch, Texas, daughter, Nereyda Bonilla and husband, Sady of Carrrollton, Texas, son, Edward Oviedo and wife, Julisa of The Woodlands, Texas, daughter, Mireya Oviedo and Eva Arredondo of Frisco, Texas, and daughter, Aleida Oviedo and husband, Emmanouil of Frisco, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Luis Leal of Mexico; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Elia was preceded in death by her husband, Concepción Oviedo; son, Ricardo Oviedo; parents; six siblings; and great-grandsons, Ricky Oviedo and Izaiah Luke Oviedo.
In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Memorial Service.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
