Elgin Edmond Conner, Jr., of Wylie, Texas, passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 84.
Elgin was born on July 18, 1941, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to Elgin E. Conner, Sr. and Marguerite Plummer. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1959 and went on to attend Abilene Christian University, Class of 1963, where he was a member of the football team throughout his college years. Elgin later earned his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1974, beginning a long and dedicated career in the legal field.
On December 15, 1962, Elgin married the love of his life, Cecelia Dawn Rone, in Cleburne, Texas.
Elgin was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to ski, scuba dive, and pilot his own plane, always seeking new experiences and new horizons.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn Conner of Wylie, Texas; son, Tad Conner and wife, Hope of Sint Maarten; son, Brian Conner and wife, Ashley of Murphy, Texas; grandchildren, Bracken, Mallory, Trey, Thomas, Kensler, Brandon, and Reagan Conner; three great grandchildren; and sister, Anne Dunn of Granbury, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Moody and Coy Conner.
A private service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
