IN LOVING MEMORY

Elenor Fitzpatrick

Jan 19 1936 - Jan 06 2025

Elenor Fitzpatrick of Wylie, Texas passed away January 6, 2025 at the age of 88. She was born to August and Marie (Bechtloff) Voelker on January 19, 1936 in Albion, Michigan.

She was a graduate of Albion High School and Wayne State University in Michigan, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Education.

On June 14, 1969, Elenor married John Fitzpatrick in Warren, Michigan. They settled in Shelby Township, Michigan, and later moved to Plano, Texas, where Elenor became an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Elenor had many interests, including quilting and gardening, and she enjoyed teaching computer classes in the 1970s. She also worked on conservation projects, particularly focused on preserving native trees along Michigan highways.  She also took great pride in organizing the "Onion Award," a grass-roots effort to beautify Shelby Township, the community where she raised her family.  While Elenor battled Parkinson’s Disease in her latter years, she eagerly awaited being welcomed into Christ’s loving arms to be made whole again.

She is survived by her husband, John Fitzpatrick of Wylie, Texas; daughter, Linda Roberge and her husband, Josh of Wylie, Texas; son, David Fitzpatrick of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah and Brady Roberge, and Timothy, Elenor and Mary Margaret Fitzpatrick.

A small memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, Friday, January 10, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, a small donation be made to either the Parkinson’s Voice Project, or the Messiah Lutheran Church – Lambs Early Childhood School.  Links provided below:
