Eldon Leon "Mac" McCracken

Eldon Leon “Mac” McCracken of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 16, 2018 at the age of 82.  He was born on August 3, 1936 to Henry Bryan and Blanche (Freeman) McCracken in Medicine Lodge, Kansas.  Mac was a mechanical engineer and farmer. He loved family, farming and his cattle along with classic cars throughout his life. Mac worked in the oil fields when he first moved to Texas; this is when he met the love of his life, Susie. Mac met her while working and living in her home town of Borger, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, as an instructor to the Rangers sharp shooters in Lawton, Oklahoma. They married on his first leave on December 20, 1959 in Borger, Texas and had 4 children. Mac moved to McKinney in 1966. He was also a Free Mason.

Mac is survived by a son, Todd McCracken and wife , Jackie of McKinney, Texas; two daughters, Tracy Worley and husband, Jerry of McKinney, Texas, and Terry Qualls and husband, Steve of Jacksboro, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew McCracken and wife, Ashley of Princeton, Texas, Casey McCracken of McKinney, Texas, Brittney McCracken of McKinney, Texas, Chelsey Worley of McKinney, Texas, Dalton Worley of McKinney, Texas, Michael Qualls and wife, Kalyn of Jacksboro, Texas, and Matthew Qualls of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Brinley McCracken of Princeton, Texas, Kameron Qualls and Blake Qualls of Jacksboro Texas; a brother, Donald McCracken of Wellington, Kansas; brothers-in-law, Gene Majors and wife, Barbara of Houston, Texas and Mack Majors; nephews, Michael Behrendt and partner, Shelly of Wichita, Kansas, Steve Behrendt and wife, Valene of Winfield, Kansas, and Doug McCracken of Wichita, Kansas; nieces, Cheri McCracken Hartman and husband, Stan of Wichita, Kansas, Debra Behrendt Clayton and husband, Fat of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Shanna Majors Scalf and husband, John of McKinney, Texas, Heather Majors Baugh and husband ,Vance of Gilmore, Texas,  Lori Majors, Teresa Dewilde, Shelly Majors Terry all of Houston, Texas; and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tommie Sue (Susie) McCracken, a son, Randy Leon McCracken, his parents, Henry Bryan McCracken and Blanche McCracken, a sister, Jessie McCracken Behrendt, brother-in-law, Johnny Avril Majors.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
