Edwin Frazer Branom

Edwin Frazer Branom of Melissa, Texas passed away February 11, 2021 at the age of 83.  He was born on August 8, 1937 to Edwin Brownlee Branom and Evelyn Elizabeth (Smith) Branom in Cuero, Texas.  Edwin grew up in Greenville, Texas and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas.  He served his country proudly in the United States Army. Edwin married Margaret Jane Crawford on April 25, 1958 in Dallas.  Through the years, he pursued many entrepreneurial endeavors in the furniture industry, the real estate industry and he even raised alligators. He also became owner of two bingo parlors in Plano and Garland, Texas.  Edwin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother to his family.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dallas.

Edwin is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Jane Branom of Melissa, Texas; children, Edwin Frazer Branom, II of Anna, Texas; Dana Rhea Brattlof and husband, Paul of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, and Jana Kay Barch and husband, Derick of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Amber Anne Branom, Austin Crawford Branom, Bryan Allan Brattlof, Collin Taylor Brattlof, Dylan Riley Brattlof, Skylar Mackenzie Barch, Chandler Kade Barch, and Summer Alyse Barch; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Evelyn Branom and sister, Carol Tadlock.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2021 at Cumby Cemetery in Cumby, Texas.  Anyone attending the Graveside Service is to maintain social distancing or may remain in their vehicle.

A “come and go” visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing and masks will be required.

Memorial contributions may be made in Edwin’s honor to Branch Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 788, Princeton, Texas 75407.
