Edwin Andrew Harvey (Andy) went to be with his beloved Lord Jesus unexpectedly on October 22, 2024. He was born on November 16,1948 to Marion and Joseph Harvey. Andy graduated from Richardson High School where he excelled in all sports. He received a football scholarship to Oklahoma State University. After graduation in 1971, he became a loyal and life-long fan of the Cowboys. Andy formed many cherished friendships through OSU football. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Janet Veerman, on November 30, 1974, they were one month shy of their 50th anniversary.
They settled in Plano where they raised their three children. Andy was one of the founders of the Plano Baseball Association. He created the Plano Cowboys baseball teams and became an inspiration and mentor to countless men. In 1997 Andy purchased property in Celina, TX, where he developed a beautiful neighborhood, and he built Janet her dream home. Andy soon became a prominent member of the Celina community. Andy's accomplishments were long and varied as a businessman. He served on the board of the AFCF (American Football Coaches Foundation), the Light Farms MUD Board and the Texas Tech University school of banking.
Having a personality larger than life, Andy never met a stranger. His loss leaves a gaping hole in the hearts of the Harvey family, friends, and colleagues.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Kristin and husband Russell Franks; son, Ryan Harvey; bonus son, Ross Roby and wife, Lisa; and grandsons, Jackson Andrew and Ryder Evan Franks. Watching his grandsons play baseball became his favorite past time; he was so proud of them. He is also survived by his brother, Chris Harvey. Also, his beloved golden retrievers, Pete and Sam who everyone said were on "full scholarship." Andy was preceded in death by his son, Adam McAndrew Harvey just months prior. The world is less quiet without Andy and Adam and the silence is deafening. As Andy would say, "How'd I do?" You did good...
