Edwin "Bud" Aldon King, Jr.

Mr. Edwin "Bud" Aldon King Jr. passed away at the age of 73 in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. He was born to Edwin Aldon King Sr. and Doris Oletha (Morrell) King on October 12, 1950, in Brady, Texas. 

Bud was a Welder and truck driver by trade. Bud worked for Coca Cola before joining the Army’s 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. Bud had a passion for auto mechanics and could fix most anything. Bud spent many hours and many miles riding his Harley.  Bud was an avid Zippo lighter collector and him and his wife still enjoyed this hobby togetherBud loved music and riding back roads, which he did a lot of this past year while battling lung cancer. Bud was an avid milk connoisseur. While traveling Bud and his wife would spend hours searching for Borden's milk. 

Bud served in the Army 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. Bronze service Star medal; National Defense service medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; Expert Rifle; Army Commendation Medal: Expert pistol; Expert M-60 MG; Expert M-79 GL. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Doris King, his son Shayne King, Grandson Colby Alexander, and his stepson Billy Joe Baker. 

Bud is survived by his Wife Diane Sinclair King of Livingston, Tx. One sister, Glenda (Cissy) Smith (Edward) Livingston, Tx; Daughters: Jenny Alexander (Lloyd) Giddings, Tx; Mariah Johnson (Jacob) Los Lunas, NM; Stepdaughter: Amy Simonton (John) Haughton, LA; Stepson: Matt Baker (Chelsey) Bossier City, LA; Grandson: Christopher Kelton; Step Grandchildren: Cody  Alexander, Clay Simonton, Camille Simonton, Gracie Claire Wallis, Bailey Baker and Dawson Baker. Step Greatgrandchildren: Hayslee Hogan and Bella Grace Baker, Caroline Wallis and Walt Simonton.

Bud was loved by many. Bud loved his family with a fierce passion. Bud loved his life and he was humble enough to tell you , God had blessed him. 

Buds Motto: My circle is complete.  Our circle is complete. Bud was loved by many, and he loved back. Buds biggest pride and joy was his family, he loved us all with a fierce passion and he loved his life.  He told us daily what we meant to him. 

A Visitation will be held at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home from 11:00AM-1:00PM Friday, November 3, 2023. A Graveside Service will follow the visitation at 1:00PM at I.O.O.F Cemetery.
