Edward Ray Hinton

Edward Ray Hinton of Carrollton, Texas passed away on January 20, 2018 at the age of 65.  He was born on April 2, 1952 to John Sondras and Rosa (Wheeler) Hinton in Grand Prairie, Texas.  Edward was an aviation mechanic and worked for L3 Technologies, Bombadier, Inc. and K.C. Aviation during his career.  He loved riding his Harley, fishing and boating.  Edward was a diver.  He loved his dog, Buffy and his cat, Kitty.

Edward is survived by his son, Edward Ray “Little Eddie” Hinton, Jr. and wife, Cara of College Station, Texas; step-daughter, Misty Watson and husband, Hugh also of Carrollton; step-son, Robert Sorter and wife, Missy of Atlanta, Louisiana; sisters, Sondra McNeil and husband, Roderick of Plano and Edna Petty of Wilmington, North Carolina; niece, Julie “LuLu” Jackson of Carrollton; nephew, Jason McVay of Wiley, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Margarete Shivers Hinton.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Garden of Memory, 3838 TX22, Hillsboro, Texas 76645. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
