Edsel Ford Carter of Celeste, Texas passed away on May 19, 2021 at the age of 93. He was born on November 3, 1927 to William Obie Carter and Lucy Luella McMahan in Wills Point, Texas. Edsel proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Annie Fay Gilbert on February 7, 1951 in Rockwall, Texas. Edsel worked for Texas Instruments for over 30 years. He was a man of many passions but most of all, he was a family man. Edsel was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Plano.

Edsel is survived by his daughter, Kathy Pendleton and husband, Miles of Celeste, Texas; grandchildren, Tiffany Murphy and Michael of Howe, Texas and Lyndsey Bryant and husband, Marcus of Anna, Texas; great-grandchildren, Railyn Murphy, Jaileigh Murphy, Ava Bryant and Maddox Bryant; sister, Gloria Ferguson of McKinney, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Fay and brother, Obie Lavon Carter.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 21, 2021 at the funeral home. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
