Edna Frances Couron, age 88, of Wylie, Texas, passed away April 17, 2012, in Palestine. Mrs. Couron was born August 3, 1923, in Shelton, Connecticut, to Roy William and Edna F. (Butler) Sheehy. She married Richard N. Couron on May 10, 1943, in Elkton, Maryland. Mrs. Couron grew up in Connecticut and was one of fourteen children. She worked at General Dynamics as an executive assistant for over thirty years until her retirement in the late 1980’s. Mrs. Couron enjoyed collecting dolls. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son, Richard Couron of Athens, Texas; grandchildren, Rene Anderson of Garland, Texas, David Couron of Sachse, Texas, and Rick Couron of Corinth, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Amber, Jordan, Gabriel, Jessica, Trevor, Joellen, and Joshua.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Jo-Ellyn Couron.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas with Rev. Flip Benham officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
