IN LOVING MEMORY

Edmund White, Jr.

Sep 23 1950 - Jan 22 2021

Retired Information Technologist Edmund White, Jr. of Princeton, Texas passed away on January 22, 2021 at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with septic shock. Edmund was born to the late Edmund White, Sr. and the late Lebralia Baker White on September 23, 1950 in Grenada, Mississippi. He confessed Christ at an early age and united with First New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Grenada. Edmund united in marriage to Shirley Robinson White on May 25, 1968.

He received his high school diploma from Carrie Dotson High School in Grenada and his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi Valley State University graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1972. Edmund furthered his education through the Master of Science program at Cardinal Stritch College in Glendale, Wisconsin.

After several years of teaching in the Grenada Public Schools and the Milwaukee, Wisconsin Public Schools, he joined the JCPenney Information Technology Department in Plano, Texas and acquired the prestigious Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification.  Following the Microsoft certification, Edmund opened his own computer repair store in Dallas, Texas and remained in that ownership role until his retirement in 2004. Upon his move to Texas, he united with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and Edmund was a faithful member until his death.

He liked to be called "Ed" by his wife, relatives, and friends.  Edmund always gave a nickname to each of his four grandchildren whom he adored.  They called him "Grandy".  Edmund loved to ride the eldest granddaughter, Isabella, on his ATV and riding lawn mower and smile as she giggled.  And he loved to listen to the other three grandchildren - Humza, Asher, and Elizabeth - play loudly with their toys when they came for their weekend sleepovers.

The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Ed. He enjoyed reading the Bible with his wife and talking about the miracles that God had performed in his life. The quiet evenings at home eating a carryout dinner from a restaurant that he had seen on television made him smile. Or having a long conversation with one of his three sons. It didn't matter which son. If you visited, you got chosen.

Edmund leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted and caring wife, Shirley; sons, Desmund White of Plano, Texas, Nicholas (Eliana) White of Allen, Texas, Morgan (Sophia) White of McKinney, Texas; granddaughters, Isabella and Elizabeth (Nicholas and Eliana); grandsons, Humza and Asher (Morgan and Sophia); brothers, Carmund (Debbie) White of Washington, District of Columbia, Michael White of Denver, Colorado, David (Paula) White of Buffalo, New York; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Christianity does not exempt one from death.  It only insures triumph over death.  There is no other way of entrance into our Heavenly Father's house.  A Christian's death gives them a more abundant life.
