So, sorry for not having expressed my sympathies for all these years. I was Ed's loyal customer for 26 years. There is a special bond between a man and his barber. He was a fine man and I still miss him dearly. Ted Waterston, August 18, 2015 I knew Ed for over 30 years, first as a barber then as a friend. I looked forward to getting a hair cut because I would ALWAYS leave laughing and of course looking better. It was a shock to hear of his passing, as with all friends he will be missed. I am glad I knew Ed! Jim Harrison, April 27, 2010 Dear Avalos family. I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of visiting Ed at The Grooming Room for over 10 years. He was a wonderful man. It was always the bright spot of my day when I was able to listen to his jokes. He had a very warm and humorous personality that made me smile. He definitely left this Earth a better place than he found it. May God bless his and all of our souls. Roberts, February 28, 2010 For over 30 years I had the pleasure of having Ed as my barber and my friend. Since first meeting Ed while atending SMU's graduate business school, I have only had two haircuts from anyone else. Ed followed my life as a friend and watched my family grow as he cut my son's hair as well. He will be truly missed in our life. We express our deepest condolences to his family. He was a great man that made everyone's day brighter. Michael Cooke, February 25, 2010 Tia Gloria & Family, I can't say how sorry I am for your loss. I know how much my Mom will miss Uncle Edmund. I will remember him with love and fondness, especially every time we use the cover he gave us to cut our kids' hair! With love, Celisa, Ricardo, Gage, Archer, Ellery, & Trek. Celisa K. Date, February 23, 2010 Ed was my friend for 30 years. I started visiting him at Culwell when I got out of law school and enjoyed his company frequently since. When my father was ill, Ed would go to his home to cut his hair. And when my first son was born, he cut his hair too. He was a part of our life. He was always interested in my family's health, and well being. We spent a lof ot time talking about his family and he was very proud of them all. I am honored to have known him. Warm wishes to all his family. Timothy R. Vaughan, February 23, 2010 Ed and I talked about spiritual realities several times as he cut my hair over the last 20 years. He assured me that he had trusted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and he was relying upon Jesus alone to get him to heaven. That is grace and that grace will be found to be sufficient as always. So, family, be encouraged that Ed will be reunited with you one day if you too have trusted in Jesus to be your savior. I can only imagine that Ed is talking to Samson right now about the length of his hair. Dr. B. Dale Taliaferro, February 22, 2010 Ed always greeted me at the Barber Shop. After a tough day on the Dallas City Council Ed always had kind, reassuring words for me. I will miss his friendly face and warm greeting. Geron, February 21, 2010 I have known Ed and his family for over 25 years and he was like a surrogate father to me.
