Mr. Edmund Avalos, age 66, of Richardson, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2010. Edmund was born on August 9, 1943 in Brackettville, Texas to Castulo and Modesta (Towns) Avalos. He married his wife, Gloria Garza Avalos, in Lamesa, Texas on January 13, 1961. Edmund worked as a barber for 49 years, and spent 34 of those years at Culwell & Son Grooming Room. He is survived by his wife Gloria, of Richardson; son, David Avalos of Plano, Texas; daughter, Elaine Smith and husband Rodney of Garland, Texas; son, Eric Avalos and wife Gwen of Dallas, Texas; son, Emmanuel Avalos and wife Stacia of McKinney, Texas; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Edward Avalos of Mesquite, Texas, and Hector Avalos of Lamesa, Texas; and sister, Eva Date of Palmview, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
