Edmond Ray Bratton

Edmond Ray Bratton of McKinney, Texas passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the age of 91.  He was born on January 5, 1927 in Johnson City, Texas, the last of nine children born to Luther C. and Mary E. Bratton. Ed married Mary L. Davis in December 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas shortly before going to Germany in WWII.   After the war, he became a Store/District/Regional Manager for the W.T. Grant Company.  Ed was a longtime resident of McKinney and an active member and Deacon of Community North Baptist Church. He was the owner of the Ben Franklin Craft Center and the Hallmark store in the Westgate Shopping Center until his retirement. 

Ed is survived by his daughter, Kathy Lane and her husband, Tommie of Rowlett, Texas; his son, Gary Bratton and his wife, Supannee of Alexandria, Louisiana; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Mary; his daughter, Elizabeth; his brothers, Woodrow, Jack, and Raleigh; his sisters, Edna Cameron, Viola (Babe) Mobley, Leora Tilley, Lora Tunnel, and Mary (Margie)Jones. 

A funeral service will be at held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Community North Baptist Church, 2500 Community Ave, McKinney, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
