Mrs. Edith Athey, age 82, of Princeton, Texas passed away November 28, 2006, in McKinney. She was born January 22, 1924, in Princeton, Texas to Merrill Oscar and Martha Frances Strickland Campbell. On October 16, 1940, she married David Earl Athey in Princeton, Texas. Mrs. Athey was a member of White Rock Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Leonard Athey and wife, Vera of Princeton, Texas; two grandchildren, Douglas Earl Athey and wife, Kimberly of Princeton, Richard Dwayne Athey and wife, Natalie of Princeton, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Randy and Stephanie Athey; brother, Merrill Oscar Campbell, Jr. of Princeton, Texas and her sister, Martha Lou Powell of Hope, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Athey; her parents and five brothers. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, December 2, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Bro. Gary Sherrill officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
