Edith Arlene Holland Curtis, age 98, of Pearl Land, Texas, passed away on May 23, 2019 at the age of 98 years old. She was born October 1, 1920 in Farmersville, Texas to Milburn Buchanan and Alice Myrtle Rayburn Holland. She worked as the Floor Manager for Johnston’s Clothing Factory in McKinney, Texas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Farmersville and a member of the Farmersville Eastern Star. Edith married Rex Curtis on December 22, 1939 in Farmersville, Texas.
She is survived by; son, Richard Curtis and wife Carolyn of Princeton, Texas, daughters, Linda Huff and husband Ray of Pearl Land, Texas, Patsy Mayo and Andrew Herrera of Victoria, Texas, 9 grandchildren, Tommy Caraway, Allison May, Scott Mayo, Ryan Mayo, Dorian Sparks, Robert Curtis, Rodney Curtis, Russell Curtis and Roxie Hester, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Edith was preceded in death by, husband, Rex Curtis on July 14, 2008, son, Robert Curtis, great-great-grandson, Chase Anthony Lopez, 3 brothers, Clarence Holland, Nelson Holland, Milburn Holland, 3 sisters, Ruby Deason, Opal Deason and Thelma Cambrow.
Visitation will take place on May 28, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Hurst Fielder Baker Funeral Home, 107 N. Washington Street, Farmersville, Texas.
Funeral service will start at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel and burial will follow in I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Farmersville, Texas.
