Eddie Ray Anderson

Eddie Ray Anderson was born on July 7, 1939 in Ector, Texas to Bedford B. Anderson and Ivy Flora Barker Anderson. He married Aline Neal Anderson on March 6, 1959 in Kentuckytown, Texas.

He died Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the age of 81. He was a resident of Whitewright, Texas.
After marrying, he became the first administrator of the Whitewright Nursing Home around 1960. After that, he was a self employed long haul truck driver for many years. He then worked for Texas Instruments for 13 years before finally becoming a self-employed business owner of W.W. Rock, Inc. of Whitewright, Texas for 27 plus years. He finally retired at the age of 77.

One of his finest accomplishments and all time favorite past times was truck and tractor pulling. He was one of the five original founding fathers of the Whitewright Tractor Pullers Association. He served as President of that association for 27 consecutive years. His very first tractor with 3 inline 327 Chevy small block engines was famously called, Afternoon Delight. He and his wife, Aline and his son, Scott were also known nationwide for the little 1936 Chevy truck named Mother Goose.

Above all of Eddie's other accomplishments to him his utmost greatest accomplishment was his Family.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Anderson of Whitewright, Janet Anderson of Whitewright; son Scott Anderson and wife Carrie of Whitewright; grandchildren Taylor Douglas and husband, Chris; Kiley, Kiera and Dominic; great grandchildren, Jaxen, Taytum, Landon, Dillon, Cortni and Brynli.


He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James Anderson and Glen Anderson, his sister Eva Kirkpatrick, his wife Aline, son Michael Todd and his great grandchild Tinley.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas. Brother Billy Neal will officiate. Pallbearers will be Rick Stogsdill, Mike Cox, Tim Neal, Edwin Anderson, Steve Anderson, Dominic Little, Maurice Cate, Billy Joe Hardin, Gene Shaw. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Cox, Bobby Joe Murphy, Kenny Anderson, and Wayne Robinson. Private Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Whitewright, Texas.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, February 12, 2021, from 5-7pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.

In lieu of flowers you can choose to make donations to Oakhill Cemetery Association. Please reference EDDIE ANDERSON in the memo section so the funds can be allocated appropriately. These funds will be used to clean out fence rows and to help rebuild the roads in the cemetery.
