Earl William Alden (Butch) 77 of McKinney, Texas was born November 23, 1945 in Phillips, Wisconsin and peacefully went to his heavenly home on June 8, 2023. He was of Christian faith. Earl lived in many small towns in Wisconsin, leaving home at the age of 16 to work on a dairy farm.

He loved sports and was active in track and field in high school. Earl graduated in 1964 in Amery, Wisconsin. He attended tech school in Eau Claire, Wisconsin where he met his wife of 57 years, Patricia Strand.

Earl served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968. He was stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for basic training and served 2 ½ years in New Ulm, Germany, then 6 months in Ft. Hood, Texas. Patricia joined him in Germany for 2 years. They traveled as much as possible and toured many beautiful castles and interesting landmarks.

He moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and worked at 3-M for several years. Earl joined his brother-in-law, Bill, in the construction field and eventually started Apple River Construction in Amery, Wisconsin with brother-in-law, LaVern. He was president of the Wisconsin Home Builders Association, for 2 years in the area he lived. Earl was a draftsman and custom home builder. One of his challenging homes was a glass house on the Apple River in Amery, Wisconsin designed by famed architect Ralph Rapson from Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was a weekend home for him and his family.

Earl and his family moved to McKinney, Texas in July of 1984. He worked for Princeton Builders Supply. He started Alden Custom Homes and The Blueprint in 1987. He was very talented in designing and building custom homes.

He was a very generous, Kind, and caring person. He loved to play golf and joined Hurricane Creek Country Club in 1986. He made 5 hole-in-ones. He also joined several bowling leagues and had several perfect games. He enjoyed many friendships along the way.

Earl is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Chad and his wife, Julie of Van Alstyne, Texas and Sarah of McKinney, Texas; brother, William and wife, Ruth of Park Rapids, Minnesota and Daniel and wife, Mary of Duluth, Minnesota. As well as many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen; brothers, Robert, Infant John, and Richard; sisters, Joyce, Patricia, and Janet.

Earl will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the same location.
