Earl Clifford McKinzie, Jr., age 65, of Plano, Texas, passed away August 17, 2008, in Frisco, Texas. Earl was born July 11, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Earl Clifford and Geraldine (Holeman) McKinzie, Sr. He graduated from Beaumont High School in 1961 and attended Lamar University where he obtained a bachelor degree. Earl began his career at Dupont in 1963 and in 1966 went to IBM for five years. He retired from EDS after twenty-seven years where he led the Asian division in Hong Kong, China, and Thailand for five years as a managing director. He married Vinnie Law on Septemer 14, 1996 in Plano, Texas. Earl was passionate about people and was able to express that passion through coaching and leadership positions. He is survived by his wife, Vinnie Law McKinzie of Plano, Texas; daughters, Cheryl McKinzie of Tyler, Texas and Charlotte Singleton of Frisco, Texas; mother, Geraldine McKinzie of Tyler, Texas; brother, Wayne McKinzie also of Tyler, Texas; grandson, Garrett Singleton. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Clifford McKinzie, Sr. and sister, Charlotte Besson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday evening.
