Mr. Earl Franklin Cunningham, age 92, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle passed away on February 23, 2006, in Frisco, Texas. He was born on October 22, 1913, at Pilot Knob, Texas in Denton County. Earl met Willie Dell Johnson while working at the Sno-White Laundry in Frisco and they later married on February 27, 1941 in Decatur, Texas. During the war, Earl was employed by the Munitions Plant in Fort Worth. Once the war was over, Earl returned to Frisco and started a business as a painting contractor. Earl is survived by four sons, Richard Cunningham and wife, Barbara of Frisco, Charles Cunningham of Celina, John Cunningham and wife, Sandy of Lindale, and Terry Cunningham of Little Elm; three grandsons, Rick Cunningham and wife, Melisa of Laredo, Russell Cunningham and wife, Vena of Frisco, Chad Cunningham and wife, Heather of Celina; six granddaughters, Sonia Shields and husband, Victor of Frisco, Lesley Hartmann and husband, Alvin of Tyler, Lori Lowry and husband, Todd of Tyler and Randalyn Merriam and husband, Jeff of Edina, Minnesota, Amie Anderson and husband, Rob of Little Elm and Mindy Cunningham of Galveston; 17 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Earl is preceded in death by his wife, Willie Dell; his parents, Richard and Rose Etta; sister, Ann Phelps; and two brothers, Weldon Cunningham and R.L. Cunningham. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Frisco. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco. Officiating as pallbearers will be, Rick Cunningham, Russell Cunningham, Chad Cunningham, Victor Shields, Alvin Hartmann, Todd Lowry and Rob Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Jasper Carver and W.C. Carter.
