A Tribute to Dr. Bobby Glenn McPeak

Bobby was born in McKinney Texas on August 17, 1952 and went to be with our Savior on February 23, 2018. He was raised in McKinney surrounded by family.

Bobby had the courage to live life to its fullest even at the end. Early in his life he developed a love of music and played the trumpet and guitar. He formed his own band in high school and never lost the love of music. Bobby also had a love of knowledge and pursued it most of his life. He attended North Texas for a short time but graduated from SMU with his bachelor’s degree and received his Masters and Doctorate from Texas Tech University. Receiving his PHD at age 55 he never gave up the desire for learning. Bobby spent most of his working career at Texas Instrument and Raytheon. His expertise and devotion to his career was remarkable.

He never met a stranger and had a smile that would light up a room. Bobby also enjoyed the country life. He enjoyed 18 years in New Hope, Texas on 4 acres of land and had horses and cows during those 18 years. Early in his life he was also infatuated with the weather. Bobby was most interested in tornadoes and even chased them for Channel 5 weather man Harold Taft. He even wrote his dissertation on tornado impact and was in the process of writing a book on the McKinney tornado.

Bobby will be greatly missed and is survived by his wife Jan, his parents Bob and Irene, son Shawn, daughter Robin Foster, daughter Cassye McPeak, daughter Jennifer Horbovetz and husband Mike, daughter Andrea Huff and husband Sam, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 infant brothers, Ricky Lee and Danny Lynn.
