Dr. Albert Bird

Dr. Albert Bird, age 84, of McKinney, Texas passed away June 15, 2010. He was born June 15, 1926, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Deeb Neimer and Anisa (Tawil) Bird. Albert graduated from Crowell High School. He married Ellen Saig on October 4, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee. Albert proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Afterwards he attended the University of Texas in Austin, and graduated from Baylor Dental School. Dr. Bird practiced dentistry in Childress, Texas for years. He was an active Rotarian during his time in Childress, and also headed the Salvation Army for several years. Albert was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of McKinney, and a member of the fellowship class. Dr Bird is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ellen; son, Anthony Albert Bird and wife Angie of Austin, Texas; daughter, Lisa Marie Hamilton and husband Robb of McKinney; grandchildren, Barrett Albert Bird of Austin, and Morgan Marie Hamilton of McKinney; and brother, Richard Bird. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mike D. Bird. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas, with Dr. Jim Palmer and Dr. Tommy Brumett officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m.
