Dortha Ben Clements, age 86, of Princeton, Texas, passed away October 5, 2007 in Allen, Texas. She was born May 10, 1921 in Princeton, Texas to George Herbert and Jenny Tom (Wilson) Dalton. On August 7, 1937, she married Rev. Robert L. Clements in Van Alstyne, Texas. She retired from Citizens State Bank of Princeton where she assisted in aspects of the family business. But her most important work was with her husband and his church. They were married for fifty-seven years until his death in 1994. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Carlisle and her husband John of Wylie, Texas; grandsons, Don Davis and Michael Turner; great-grandson, Chad Davis; sister-in-law, Pat Clifton and her husband Wayne; and brother-in-law, Junior Odil. Preceding her in death were her husband of fifty-seven years, Rev. Robert L. Clements; and her sisters, Lena Langley and Maurine Odil. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 8, 2007 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Roland Burnett and Rev. Dave Saffle officiating. Interment will follow at Princeton Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
