Our beloved mother and Nana, Dorothy Sheffield Patterson of Frisco, Texas passed away on April 13, 2023 at the age of 83. She was born on August 25, 1939 to Ralph A. and Claudia (Draughon) Sheffield in Mobile, Alabama. Dorothy grew up in Mobile, Alabama graduating from Baker High School in Mobile. She was the owner/operator of Designs and Finds by Dottie, a jewelry and accessories business. Dorothy was a lifetime member of the Texas Garden Club, as well as a member of the Frisco and Plano Garden Clubs. She also participated in supporting education programs and assistance for the blind through National Federation for the Blind and Hadley.edu. She was honored for engaging others as a Hadley Brand Ambassador in 2021. Dorothy held a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, sharing God’s love every opportunity she was given.
She is survived by son, Ron Patterson, and his wife, Taylor, of Frisco, Texas; granddaughters, Rachel Patterson of Birmingham, Alabama and Lauren Patterson of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother, Mickey Sheffield, and his wife, Luci, of Mobile, Alabama; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by parents and sister, Bessie Danley.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
