Dorothy Louise Aycock

Dorothy Louise Aycock of Melissa Texas passed away on February 8, 2021 at the age of 87. She was born on April 22, 1933 to Roy Evans and Eula (Wolfe) Evans in Allen, Texas. Dorothy married the late Royce Eugene Aycock on April 17, 1948 in McKinney, Texas and enjoyed 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2001. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister to her family.  Dorothy was a devoted member of First Melissa.

She is survived by son, R. E. “Butch” Aycock, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of McKinney Texas; daughter, Karen Morris and husband, Joe of Corsicana, Texas; daughter-in-law, Linda Aycock James of Whitewright, Texas; grandchildren, Billy Bob Aycock of Honey Grove, Texas, Jeny Honea and husband, Brian of Prosper, Texas, Casey Carpenter and husband, Matthew of McKinney, Texas, Wendy Howard and husband, Kyle of Melissa, Texas, Heather Strait and husband, Yancey of Prosper, Texas, Lauren James and husband, Luke of Van Alstyne, Texas, Holly Foxworth and husband, Todd of Kerens, Texas, Joe Keith Morris and wife, Heather of Kerrville, Texas, and Penny Dempsey and husband, Travis of Bryan Texas; great-grandchildren, Jordan Pry, Weston Aycock, Levi Aycock, Hank Honea, Hanna Honea, Collin Carpenter, Kinsey Carpenter, Colt Carpenter, Tex Palmer, Aaron Foxworth, Jack Dempsey, Jesse Dempsey, Eloise Morris, Everly Morris, Brooke Howard, Chase Howard, Jaxon Howard, Sloan Howard, Avery Strait, Arden Strait, Jett James, Ace James, and Leddy James; great-great-grandson, Cru Pry; and numerous other loving family and friends.

Dorothy was preceeded in death by her husband, Royce Aycock; parents, Roy and Eula Evans; son, Billy Aycock; and daughter in law, Barshia Aycock; brother, Bill Evans, and sister, Doris Ann McCraw.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2021 at First Melissa, 2101 East Melissa Road, Melissa, Texas 75454 with Pastor Trey Graham officiating.  Interment is to follow at Pecan Grove in McKinney, Texas.  Anyone attending the graveside is to maintain social distancing or may remain in their vehicle. 

A visitation will be held beginning at 12:30 p.m. at First Melissa prior to the service.
