Dorothy Jane (Stratman) Meyer, age 90, of The Colony, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, in McKinney, Texas. She was born on February 7, 1929, in Alamo, Texas, to Concordia Ann (Senne) and William Walter Stratman. Dorothy married the love of her life, Virgil Frederick Meyer, in Houston, Texas, on July 30, 1950, and they had three children. She obtained her bachelor’s degree and was a kindergarten teacher, as well as sharing her talents as a church organist. Dorothy also enjoyed painting with acrylics and water colors, and gardening.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Victoria Kiviranta and her husband, Ken, Beth Thomas and her husband, Rick, and Rick Meyer and his wife, Debie; her grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Samantha, Michael and Emily; and her great-grandchildren, Marcus and Zachary.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A private graveside service is planned at Ridgeview West Memorial Park in Frisco, Texas.
