Dorothy Myre Elizabeth Dozier

Dorothy Myre Elizabeth Dozier of McKinney, Texas passed away January 6, 2016 at the age of 84. She was born January 16, 1931 to Willie Cornelius “Neely” and Julia Mae (Fountain) Blasius in Kaufman County, Texas. Dorothy graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Art History from Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California. She married Donald Dozier December 1, 1951 at First United Methodist Church in Terrell, Texas. Dorothy owned her own interior design business. She was a talented interior designer and a well-known artist. She was a member of the Crafters Guild of Chestnut Square and was a member of First United Methodist Church of McKinney.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Donald Dozier of McKinney; sons, Brook Dozier and wife Chris of Hurst, Texas, Mike Dozier and wife Kendra of New Braunfels, Texas; grandchildren, Taylor, Aaron, Kaelyn; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh; sister, Judy A. Poe of Terrell, Texas; sisters-in-law, Sally Leigh, Karen Lancaster and their families; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Neely and Julia Blasius; and her brothers, Willie Jack Blasius and Howell Wayne Blasius.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 315 N. Church St., McKinney, Texas.
