Dorothy Marie Anderson, age 90, of Pottsboro, Texas, passed away on October 17, 2011. She was born September 23, 1921, in Cannan, Texas, to Noel and Appalona “Appie” (Wakefield) Hansard. On September 8, 1940, Dorothy married Rodney Lee Anderson, in McKinney, Texas. Her whole life revolved around her church, Hagerman Baptist Church, and her family. Dorothy loved to work in her flowerbed; and, always gave “Mamaw Scratchers” to everyone to wash their dishes with. She is survived by her son, Dale Anderson and wife Nancy of Pottsboro, Texas; daughters, Patricia Shearer and husband Archie of Sherman, Texas, Doris “Punkin” Potter and husband James of Farmersville, Texas; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many, many, other loving family members and friends. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Appie Hansard; and brothers, Billy and Douglas Hansard. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow.
